Young & Ayata, founded by Kutan Ayata and Michael Young, is an architectural design practice formed in 2008 dedicated to speculations on the aesthetics of the near future. They work through images, objects, and buildings to build scenarios of the background. The practice is dedicated to both built commissions and experimental research. Both principals teach and view the academic domain as crucial to the continual development of architectural ideas, particularly emergent trajectories in architectural representation.

Young & Ayata recently received the Progressive Architecture Award with their DL1310 Apartments project in Mexico City. They are the recipients of the 2016 Design Vanguard Award from Architectural Record. In 2015 they were one of two first prize winners in the International Competition for the New Bauhaus Museum in Dessau, Germany. They were finalists in the 2015 MoMA Young Architects Program in Istanbul, Turkey. In 2014, the partners were the recipients of the Young Architects Prize from Architectural League of New York, and their entry in the International competition for the Dalseong Citizen's Gymnasium in South Korea received an honorable mention. The firm's work has been published widely and has been exhibited nationally and internationally including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Istanbul Modern Museum, the Graham Foundation, SCI-Arc, Princeton, Harvard and Yale Universities.

In Oil & Gas, Ayata's software has modeled more than 14,000 horizontal shale wells from 6 leading operators in 4 major North American shale plays. Results include 9.8% increase in first year production, 100-day decrease in new well breakeven, and 24% increase in per well ROR. In Insurance, Ayata's software is predicting losses for auto and home insurance policies for all US customers of a "Fortune 50" Insurance company, and running their claims litigation process end-to-end. In High-Tech, Ayata's software helped Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Dell, and Juniper Networks improve Customer Service, Field Service, Retail Operations, and Parts Logistics.

We are a collaborative lab passionate about science but enjoy other life aspects! While everyone has unique projects and skill sets, we help each other through technical and scientific discussions and collaborative experiments. Our lab strongly believes in and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion of people of different races, ethnicities, genders, ages, socioeconomic statuses, religions, disabilities, and sexual orientations.

Midlife events can steer aging towards pathological trajectories, implying that these events are stored as cellular memories. Combining novel mouse models and nanotechnology, we mimic or block cellular responses of microglia with a goal to elucidate how they interact with the epigenetic machinery and determine microglia identity and function.

Microglia can exist in diverse states during aging and neurological diseases that can have protective or harmful outcomes for the brain function. Our goal is to trace molecular pathways that link microglia cellular phenotypes to their impact on brain health, with a goal to reveal therapeutic targets in the treatment of neurological diseases.

Our project TRAIZOO on "Trait biogeography and functional diversity of marine mesozooplankton from high throughput data (imaging, omics), machine learning and numerical modelling" has been selected by the French ANR funding agency. This collaborative project gathers the LOCEAN, the LOV, the LOG, the SEPIA/CEA, the LaMME, and colleagues at AWI in Germany, BIOS and Bermuda, and NeoLab/Takuvik at the Université Laval in Québec (Canada).

The new version of our project-team FORMAL, "From Observing to Modelling OceAn Life", has been selected by the ISCD of SU. This collaborative project gathers several labs from SU and beyond (LOCEAN, LOV, ISYEB, LIP6, BOREA, LPSM, LOMIC, AD2M, LJLL).

I studied biology, ecology and computer sciences at the École normale supérieure (ENS) in Paris from 2002 and 2006. I then did my PhD at the Station Biologique de Roscoff in marine ecology under the supervision of Eric Thiébaut (UPMC, Dec. 2010). I studied larval dispersal and connectivy of marine invertebrates using biophysical modeling, in situ observations, and statistical analyses. I then did my post-doc at the LOCEAN in Paris under the supervision of Marina Lévy and Olivier Bernard from INRIA, where I worked on the impact of phytoplankton stoichiometry and photoacclimation on primary production in the ocean.

In 2012 I was recruited as associate professor (maître de conférences) in marine ecology at Sorbonne University (SU). I worked in the COMPLEx Team at the Laboratoire d'Océanographie de Villefranche sur mer (LOV). I passed my habilitation (HDR) in June 2017. In 2018-2019 and 2019-2020, I was a visiting researcher at ISYEB thanks to two sabbatical years at the CNRS. The aim of my sabbatical was to learn on the use of genomics and next generation sequencing for plankton studies.

With over a decade of experience in Real Estate Financing, I bring a wealth of industry knowledge, creativity to the loan process, and the ability to guide clients through the fine details. I have a great ability to connect with people, which becomes particularly important when you are entrusting a professional with your financial information. I'm committed to providing strategic loan strategies to meet the unique, and complex needs of each individual borrower. Clients can count on being fully informed and trust that I will get the job done! My role as a Mortgage advisor goes beyond the closing table, where many clients turn into friends, and trusted partnerships are built! When not immersed in loan files, I enjoy running up to Lookout Point (Joaquin Miller Park), Lake Merritt, and the Hills in my neighborhood. Most of my time is taken up by my wonderful children, and husband who I sincerely adore. When not in mommy and wife mode, I enjoy traveling, dining out, reading my favorite fashion blog, and most importantly, sharing good laughter with family and friends!
